Tear Away Case Study: Cleveland Convention Center

Cleveland, OH

The Cleveland Convention Center underwent a $465 million renovation to update the 750,000 square foot facility. Natural light and raised ceilings were incorporated into the designs due to the below-grade meeting and exhibition space. With a new public mall plaza above the Cleveland Convention Center, the mixed-use space is expected to boost the city's economy.

Tear Away Shadow & Archway Beads were incorporated into the Cleveland Convention Center to create a reveal effect where the drywall butts up to the ceiling and base trim. The flexible properties of vinyl made it possible to install along curved walls. With a tight time line, the tear off strip expedited the installation process by leaving a clean finished edge that was free of mud, allowing the project to be finished ahead of schedule.
