093V Expansion Bead Case Study: Southwest Energy

Houston, TX

The Southwest Energy headquarters relocated to a 25 acre lot in Houston, TX that will allow room for company growth in the future. Gensler Architecture designed the two ten-story towers to be connected by a two-story main lobby, mezzanine, sky bridge and rooftop deck.

A custom curved metal expansion joint was requested for the massive ceiling expanses, with a 6-8 week minimum delivery time and a significantly higher cost. Facing a tight deadline, instead of waiting weeks for metal 093 beads to arrive, Baker Triangle turned to Trim-Tex 093V Expansion. Trim-Tex 093V, manufactured from flexible vinyl, easily formed to match the curved ceiling reveal design in the Southwest Energy building. Trim-Tex Expansion Beads provide up to 3/8" in controlled movement. 093V Expansion features tear off strips that protect the center from mud and act as a guide for a taping knife, expediting installation time. By installing Trim-Tex 093V Expansion Bead, the project finished on time and on budget.

Like all Trim-Tex products, 093V never dents or rusts, which reduces long-term building maintenance costs.
