Instructions
To ensure straightness,
snap a chalk line along the drywall to use as a guide for the 3/8"
reveal. Dry fit the bead for length. The
Fiber Optic Corner is designed to curve standard 3/8" Fiber optic
cable along a gradual 3" radius. One Corner will make a 45º
turn. Parts can be used together to make 90º, 135º or 180º
turns. The part is designed with a flat area on both sides. When running
multiple parts, the flat area must be cut off as shown. You may need
to cut off 1 or both sides. See figure 1 for details.
To cut the corner, turn it over as shown in figure 2. With a sharp utility
knife, cut along the score mark that is molded into the back of the
part. Start at the highest point as shown and then cut off the flanges.
Basic Method: Use a chalk line as a guide to install the bead to the
wall, stapling both mud legs every 6-10" with 1/2" long divergent
staples.
Superior Method: Liberally apply Trim-Tex 847 spray adhesive to the
back of the bead and then to the drywall. Immediately apply to the wall
using the chalk like as a guide. Once in position, press the legs into
place using the Trim-Tex Installation
Tool. This ensures the bead will properly bond to the wall. Go back
a second time to press the legs into place once the adhesive has tacked
up. Staple both mud legs every 6-10" with 1/2" long divergent
staples. To keep mud out of the center insert a 3/8" foam backer
rod into the center of the Reveal. Be sure not to leave excessive mud
buildup on the mud bumps. After final sanding, gently remove the cord
from the Reveal. Lightly sand along the edges of the Reveal as needed.
Caulk seams with a latex acrylic caulk at all intersections and butt
joints.
When painting be careful not to roller too much paint into the Reveal.
The center does not require primer and only needs a coat of finish paint
to be brushed in. |
