Deflection Case Study: Museum Towers II

444,000 SF - 17 Stories (16 plus The Penthouse)  - Including 270 Upscale apartments and 16 three story townhouses, a 400 space parking garage (4 stories) with ground floor and rooftop amenities

Wall Mounted Deflection Bead was used to protect the interior finishing against building movement. Deflection Bead is installed at the head of wall detail, and expands and contracts to protect the interior finish from cracks and damage. 

Steel Girder slab system w/window wall cladding w/concrete decks on the ceilings; Gypsum Board is "Mold Tough" green Board by USG on the first 8 floors and Regular 5/8" Firecode on the top half; They are using #9220 in lieu of Tear Away L Bead and caulk, It was NOT specified by the Architects - Component pushed it thru as PM Tim Morrison used this on a small project Wynnefield Place at 1777 N. 54th Street.  It is a Fire Rated Wall/Ceiling and they are using a 150' Fire Tape Roll by STI behind the Deflection Bead that sticks to the top of the track.
